Oh please...you're not even trying anymore. At least with some of your older made-up trivia, it took me more than 30 seconds of Googling to find out they were false.

Awesome - tear Factropolis a new one! Except that, uhhh, this is a fairly well-known fact among Cash fans. Read his autobiography, dumbass.

I am astonished at how people consistently fail to make this connection: I have questioned the validity of several of these "facts", so obviously I don't believe things just because I'm told they're so. And yet, whenever anybody tries to challenge my conclusions, they provide NO evidence. NONE! Where are you all getting the impression that I'll believe what you say just because you say it?
Do you have a page number? A direct quote? No? I didn't think so. Why am I not surprised anymore?
Yes, it's so "well-known" that none of the first 20 or so pages I found when I Googled "Johnny Cash quilt" mentioned his love of quilting. I haven't seen a shred of evidence, other than your dubious claim, that Cash ever even THOUGHT about making a quilt.
Let me guess: you're one of the editors of this site, right? You're one of the people responsible for making this crap up? I can't think of any reason that anybody else would be so eager to defend it.
Of course, if you CAN provide a page number or a direct quote, and IF I can verify that it's real, I'll gladly take back what I said...about THIS "fact". I'm just a nice guy like that.
I'm waiting.
By the way...name-calling? Really? What are you, six?

Flame on! Lets all just pretend that Johnny Cash's annual quilt auction to benefit cancer research never happened. And let's just ignore the fact that one of his quilts is on display in the Country Music Hall of Fame Museum. And that he draped a black quilt over his wife's casket when she died. You know, because Anonymous (JC's biggest fan) didn't find it in his ten second Google search.

I find it pretty easy to pretend, since it never did happen.
My "ten second Google search" was really more than I was obliged to do. You make the ridiculous claims; the burden of proof is on you.
Of course, there's no proof to be had. I've stopped expecting any. But I'm not going to stop calling you on your crap, because maybe, just MAYBE, somebody will stumble across this website and learn something TRUE by reading these comments. That's my hope, anyway. I live to educate.
It's funny...I can almost predict what the next comment will be...if you reply.

There are so many anonymous postings to this topic that I can't say for sure who said what...
I will comment in general that the Man in Black suffered with severe alcohol addiction and that there are many suggested therapeutical activities to assist the individual during recovery. Quilting in fact is one of them. I can understand no posted reference to his quilting "hobby" since some personal aspects of an individuals life could and should be held in private.
Again, when dealing with anonymous postings, the skeptical side of me tends to take any information with a grain of salt.
Suffice it to say, let the Man in Black rest in peace, published quilter or not.
